This category involves sites where alternative technologies were used by themselves or in combination with bioremediation. I have considerable knowledge about zero valent iron (ZVI); when I worked at BEAK they owned EnviroMetal Technologies Inc (ETI), the original researchers and owners of the ZVI patent. That patent expired in November 2010 so the use of ZVI has become more wide spread since. It should also be a less costly, as there is more competition and the 15% ETI license fee no longer applies. Three of the project summaries below involved ZVI.
I am also familiar with technologies (e.g. thermal) for which bioremediation is often used as a polishing step. Three of the project summaries below are examples of post-thermal biopolish. Citations within the project descriptions are under ABOUT.
